Working Papers in Language Education and Research exists as a forum for preliminary findings, or reflection on the early stages of work in progress, or conference reviews, for current members of the English Language Institute at Kanda University of International Studies. The purpose of the journal is to, primarily, highlight and showcase current research/practice being carried out in the ELI at KUIS. Also, the Working Papers provide a system for archiving research presented by ELI members for an international audience.

While we realise what was outlined by the previous editorial team in terms of the suggested direction Working Papers would take (as suggested in the Forward to the 2015 edition), the new editorial team think the journal in its current form would serve the needs of teachers for the foreseeable future.
